Overview:
- Fortivum are seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of mission-critical data centre projects.
- This role provides an opportunity to develop technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, innovative, and efficient electrical systems suited to high-performance data centre environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design of electrical building services from concept through to completion, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Assist in preparing tender documentation, technical reports, analyses, and engineering recommendations.
- Work with clients, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements, develop project scopes, and deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
- Assist with design reviews, installation quality inspections, and the application of electrical design standards across projects.
- Support senior engineers with project deliverables, coordination activities, programme requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 1–3 years’ experience in electrical building services design, or relevant graduate-level experience.
- Exposure to Data Centres, Industrial, High-Tech, Commercial, and/or Healthcare projects is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and Microsoft Office; Revit experience is advantageous.
- Good understanding of electrical building services principles, relevant Irish and European Standards, and a strong interest in developing a career within mission-critical and data centre engineering.
