Senior Project Manager

Overview:

  • Fortivum are now seeking a Senior Project Manager (client representative) with experience in the management and execution of Data Centre projects from concept through to handover.
  • The role involves managing multiple stakeholders, including design consultants, general contractors, and equipment vendors, to ensure delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Primary Location: Dublin – European Travel Once per Month

Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for large-scale data centre developments (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise).
  • Represent the client in all phases of the project lifecycle, including feasibility, design development, procurement, construction, and handover.
  • Drive project governance, including stage-gate reviews, risk management, change control, and stakeholder engagement.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Manage multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams, including MEP, civil, structural, architectural, and commissioning specialists.
  • Act as primary liaison between the client and project teams to ensure alignment of objectives.

 Cost, Schedule & Quality Control

  • Ensure delivery against defined budget, schedule, and performance benchmarks.
  • Oversee contractor procurement strategies (e.g., design & build, EPC, or CM) and contract administration.
  • Ensure rigorous QA/QC, health & safety, and commissioning processes are enforced.

 Technical Oversight

  • Review and approve technical documentation, design submissions, construction drawings, and commissioning protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO, etc.) and local regulatory requirements.

Risk & Compliance

  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Oversee adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards and ensure permits and approvals are in place.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in project management within mission-critical environments.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale data centre projects as a client representative or owner’s project manager.
  • Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure systems: electrical (HV/LV), mechanical (cooling), fire protection, and BMS.
