Overview:
- Fortivum are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor with experience supporting the commercial delivery of data centre projects.
- The role will involve working closely with project managers, cost consultants, and contractors to ensure accurate cost control and efficient procurement.
- Location: Dublin
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans, and estimates.
- Conduct cost reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis throughout project lifecycles.
- Manage procurement activities including tendering, bid evaluations, and contract award.
- Prepare and review subcontractor packages, scopes of work, and valuations.
- Monitor and control project costs against budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and contractors.
- Support in the assessment and negotiation of variations and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in final account preparation and contract close-out.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- 6 years of post-graduate experience, ideally within the data centre, pharmaceutical, high-tech, or mission-critical sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, JCT).
- Experience with cost reporting, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, and experience with cost management tools (e.g., CATO, CostX, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable:
- Working towards or recently chartered (MRICS or equivalent).
- Previous experience on large-scale data centre or complex infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of BIM or digital cost management platforms.
