Project Engineer

Overview:
Fortivum is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of mission-critical / data centre projects from concept through to handover. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to accelerate their career within a growing client-side consultancy, gaining exposure to complex, high-value projects across Europe.

The role is Dublin-based, with travel to European client sites, so candidates must be willing to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in the technical and commercial delivery of assigned projects or work packages.
  • Assist in defining project scope, scope of work, and delivery approach within agreed budgets.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Quality Plan.
  • Maintain project documentation including File Index, compliance records, and trackers.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining the Project Compliance Tracker (PCT), highlighting potential compliance risks early.
  • Coordinate multiple engineering disciplines, including sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Support construction, procurement, and contracting activities using Fortivum standard tools and processes.
  • Assist in monitoring programme, cost, and risk, escalating issues to the Project Manager as required.
  • Prepare inputs for Project Monthly Internal Reports (PMIR).
  • Ensure works are carried out in compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Engineering, Construction, Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in engineering or project delivery roles.
  • Data centre / mission-critical experience (Beneficial but not essential).
  • Good understanding of core engineering disciplines (MEP exposure desirable).
  • Working toward or holding a professional qualification in Project Management (desirable).
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of budget and cost control principles.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
