Overview:
Fortivum is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of mission-critical / data centre projects from concept through to handover. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to accelerate their career within a growing client-side consultancy, gaining exposure to complex, high-value projects across Europe.
The role is Dublin-based, with travel to European client sites, so candidates must be willing to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in the technical and commercial delivery of assigned projects or work packages.
- Assist in defining project scope, scope of work, and delivery approach within agreed budgets.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Quality Plan.
- Maintain project documentation including File Index, compliance records, and trackers.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining the Project Compliance Tracker (PCT), highlighting potential compliance risks early.
- Coordinate multiple engineering disciplines, including sub-consultants and contractors.
- Support construction, procurement, and contracting activities using Fortivum standard tools and processes.
- Assist in monitoring programme, cost, and risk, escalating issues to the Project Manager as required.
- Prepare inputs for Project Monthly Internal Reports (PMIR).
- Ensure works are carried out in compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in risk identification and mitigation activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Engineering, Construction, Science, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience in engineering or project delivery roles.
- Data centre / mission-critical experience (Beneficial but not essential).
- Good understanding of core engineering disciplines (MEP exposure desirable).
- Working toward or holding a professional qualification in Project Management (desirable).
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of budget and cost control principles.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
- Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
