Overview:
- Fortivum are now seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer with experience leading the electrical design and delivery of mission-critical data centre projects.
- This senior role involves driving technical excellence, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust, innovative, and efficient electrical systems aligned with the high-performance requirements of data centre environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of electrical building services from concept through to completion.
- Prepare high-quality tender documentation, reports, technical analyses, and recommendations.
- Work directly with clients and project leads to define requirements and develop robust engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to develop clear project scopes.
- Carry out and oversee design and installation quality reviews.
- Maintain and uphold electrical design standards across projects.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years’ experience in electrical building services design.
- Strong background in Data Centres, Industrial, High-Tech, Commercial, and/or Healthcare projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and Microsoft Office (Revit advantageous).
- Confident leading client meetings and representing the design team.
- Proven ability to lead project tasks, manage deliverables, and support junior engineers.
- Excellent report-writing skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical issues.
- Strong knowledge of Irish and European Standards.
